FRENCH RETREAT

Enjoy creative breaks in South West France

A traditional farmhouse, built in 1859, in the delightful rural village of Sariac-Magnoac in SW France is an Artists Retreat and offers low cost accommodation with excellent tuition if required. It is a place where artists can discover an increased sense of purpose, achieve goals, overcome ‘creative-block’ and focus on increased output. Our region offers artists a multitude of creative inspiration from beautiful landscapes, mountain views, old towns, churches and a lot more. It is excellent for painters, photographers and writers. If you are looking for inspiration or need some quality concentrated time to work on a project in a state of peaceful, calm tranquility then this will be a great place for you.

Keeping costs low! In order to further keep costs low for artists and models we are happy to consider a work exchange. You can offset the cost of your stay with a fair exchange for working. We can offer free accommodation and meals. For every 4 hours of work per person each day, we will provide you with accommodation and meals. It is a mutually beneficial exchange and you will be made to feel welcome sharing our home.

Work will be set within your capabilities or skill set. Typical work can be modelling, DIY, gardening, weeding, shopping, simple building work etc. (Please note that we may not be able to accept a work exchange for the full time of your stay).

Rural France with art tuition if desired

I really enjoyed staying at this farmhouse just outside a tiny hamlet in a very rural area of France. The views of the Pyrenees are stunning and I found Paul and Asha to be very caring hosts. I spent my days with Paul in his studio or outside painting, drawing and talking art. I learned a lot during my time at Maison Ganesh and would highly recommend it to anyone who needs a base in the Hautes-Pyrenees. If you, like me, are looking to improve your drawing and painting technique while enjoying Paul and Asha’s hospitality, then it really is a great option. The surrounding area is full of charming villages and small towns and the regional gastronomy is known throughout France. Reviewed August 6, 2012 by Philip Sutton
